This paper has developed the video digitized processing block (VPB) of the newgeneration digitized IDTV with progressive scan, fully reconstructed and optimized thecontrolling software of it and accomplished the development of model machine. Thisdigitized IDTV has the ability to receive multi-system TV programs nowadays and canconvert interlaced TV signal of PAL system with 50Hz field frequency to progressivevideo with 60Hz video field frequency via nonlinear interpolation, whichsimultaneously solve the problems pretty well existed in TV image of PAL system, suchas large area flicker, line crawl, interline flicker, coarse line structure and so on . Withline scan frequency close to standard VGA, it also can serve as a large screen monitor ofcomputer. Composed of sophisticated ICs dedicated to TV, the VPB has an utmostintegration level, which provides excellent picture quality, high reliability andcontributes the complete machine to reach a rather well cost performance ratio forcommercialization. Furthermore, this paper also makes some theoretical analysis on thepicture quality enhancement through de-interlaced conversion.
