Based on power line communication technology, this paper has designed and developed the system of Smart Home. With High-speed PowerLine Communication system, research has been conducted on the digital community that is built through low-voltage distribution. The digital community integrates Internet and control of smart home, and extends a new field for Smart Home system and powerline communication technology. The paper has finished several researches including:1) wholly summarize the production of research on smart home automation system and powerline carrier technology. The point of smart home system entirely based on powerline is creatively proposed, which constructs the integrated system.2) The integration of smart home system and high-speed powerline communication is brought forward and realized. Make a digital community with functions of browsing Internet and home automation through powerline from distribution transformer to house.3) Development of home gateway- Intelligent Control Network Data Terminal (ICDT), which is pivotal controller and management unit in this system. Based on the investigation and analysis, the design of hardware and software of ICDT is introduced. And the paper provides the flow chart of ICDT's main programme.4) Complete the design of indoor powerline carrier network making use of digital power line carrier (DPLC) technology. Finish the circuit of host module and inferior module-EPLC600/s. Propose the framework of digital home network.5) Based on common Windows platform, the software application platform of smart home system is completed by client/sever and browser/sever mixed mode. The software can realize remote control of electrical appliances, automatic meters reading, personal safety watching, and so on. Give the flow of main control program and the realization of partial programme.
