After tens of years of automatization rebuild, the level of automatization of manufacturing industry have made great improvement in China. Many new automation technology have been introduced in, which involve advanced information processing and controlling technique, for example the control system, which consists of PLC, industrial PC, SCM, human machine interface, field bus etc. based on computer, the advanced drive technique includes frequency control, AC servo control, detecting and sensing technique and executer etc.Beam and rail plant of Panzhihua iron and steel company is a big profiled bar producing plant. It is the backbone of Pangang and was built in 1974. In recent years, under highly regard of the government, the railway construction has improved quickly. The need for rail product increases year by year and such a big consuming market have already attracted the attention of many advanced countrys. If the plant keeps the situation of old equipment, low production and high cost, it will be hit inevitably. Facing the intense competition in domestic and potential overseas market, Pangang will take an overall technical reform to beam and rail plant to further improve its equipment level and enhance its product's ability in market competition.Aiming at analyzing the automation system construction in metallurgy field, the paper herein is used to delineate my preliminary research in designing and constructing PLC control network as well as on-site practice based on the Field Bus Technology, through which benefits are achieved both in theory understanding and practice application and further exploration in this field is inspired.Automation innovation in industrial system is mainly focused on construction of flexible automation production line. Set building a Field Bus Control System Scheme – Steel Reel Automation Production Line Scheme as an example, the paper herein fully demonstrates that Field Bus System featured with duplexing serial multipoint digital communication on complete performance and intense reliability with its integrative information and economical control compared to traditional CCS and DCS in the aspects of all-round planning, hardware configuration and software designing.
