Research Of Embedded Network Management Agent Based On SNMP And The Implement Of E-Agent's Universal Toolkits

With the coming of late PC era, the rising digital network is invariably closely bound up with embedded system. The various embedded equipments ,such as information wiring, sensor, communication production, industry controller and PDA etc, have entered people's life. With the widely use of Internet and embedded system, the embedded system interconnect has become the inevitable trend.The embedded system components consist of software and hardware technology. While the hardware technology makes progress at a stride, software has a huge growing space. The embedded equipments being embedded with agent make the administrator holding the ability to control and monitor the remote equipments, which is necessary in the network construction and maintenance.Since the traditional network management mainly manages the huge network equipments such as PC, switches, routers, the management technique is not appropriate for the heterogeneous embedded equipments which have limited computing ability and have limited resources. The embedded network management is a new challenge in the network management fields.The thesis is aimed at the new development trend of network management and discusses the network management model of embedded equipment greatly. Comparing with traditional network management model, the paper argues deeply the implement technology of network management agent embedded in embedded equipment with limit resource and weak computing ability. In all network management protocols, since SNMP network management protocol is simple to implement and need smaller cost to implement, it yet is one of core technology of embedded network management.After the introduction of the architecture of embedded system, embedded operate system, especially embedded Linux, the model of embedded network management software compared with the traditional model, SNMP protocol and its application in embedded network management the thesis covers some key technologies in more details about the imnlement of the embedded SNMP agent.
