Along with the popularization of the network application and the network equipment, itis also gradually increasing to the network management demand.Because SNMP has obtainedthe widespread application in the industrial world by its simplicity.The TCP/IP major partrouter and the switchboard all support SNMP in the protocol standard certain mainmanagement information database (MIB).In addition, in other private network equipmentmanagement domain, the SNMP network management has also obtained the widespreadapplication.In the SNMP management model, the management station is carries on themanagement and the monitoring center to AGENT, Agent is managed to the equipment tocarry on the monitoring and front end the operation network management.Therefore, in thenetwork equipment, to increase SNMP agent adapts the network supervising and managingdevelopment is essential .The embedded system is a branch of computer, which is according to general-purposecomputer. A wide range of devices can be included in embedded systems, basically, anycomputer which is not made for a general purpose, can be classified as embeddedsystems.There are far more embedded systems in number than general-purpose computersystems. Network share information management based on embedded applications, hasbecome a hot spot; the center of Internet applications has changed from PC into embeddeddevices.In the past decades, the embedded systems are more and more widely used in theInternet, and it's said that the world is going to enter an "embedded-Internet" age.With thedevelopment of network technology, based on resource sharing and information exchangepurposes,network management of embedded devices connected to the Internet is imperative.By analyzing the SNMP and base on NET-SNMP development kit, discuss theconstruction of MIB modules and code conversion and complete embedded SNMP Agentextension. In this paper,we construct a application simulation software and hardware platformwhich uses S3C2410, a core based on ARM9, and with the embedded linux operating systemon it ,for testing the embedded SNMP agent ;by transplanting the agent to the target platform,and through network management tools to verify the SNMP agent's network managementfunctions of the embedded device,we can find that the agent work fluently .
