PurposeCancer-related fatigue in patients with malignant tumors is very common, especially for patients after surgery or radiation therapy or chemotherapy, but its pathogenesis is not yet clear, and there are almost no effective clinical treatment options. It seriously affects the patients’ quality of life, and even makes the patients forced to discontinue treatment. In this research, digestive tract malignant tumor patients were assessed. We studied the related clinical factors affecting cancer-related fatigue, discussed the core pathogenesis and the distribution characteristics of syndrome differentiation, and evaluated the curative effect of Yiqijianpibushen formula, providing a theory support and treatment basis for the clinical work.MethodThis study included 60 cases from outpatient. The patients took Yiqijianpibushen formula on the basis of routine support treatment,100 ml/times, 2 times/day, and the whole cycle was 28 days. After doing the questionnaire survey on the first and the last day, including European Organization for Research and Treatment Quality of life Questionnaires(EORTC QLQ-C30), The Brief Fatigue Inventory (BFI) and The Revised Piper Fatigue (PFS-R), we used SPSS20.0 statistical software for analysis.ResultThere was an association of fatigue degree and gender or age (P< 0.05);Cancer-related fatigue affected the functions of digestive tract malignant tumor patients, they were cognition>physical functioning>emotion>community>character, and caused fatigue in the fields of cognition>emotion>behavior>feeling (p<0.05); In addition to fatigue, shortness of breath (76.7%), insomnia (70%), loss of appetite (65%) were symptoms with the highest frequency; the proportion of patients with deficiency syndrome was 80.6%, while sthenia syndrome was 19.4%, and cases of spleen deficiency, kidney deficiency and blood deficiency were the most; Yiqijianpibushen formula effectively improved the patients’ physical function, role function, emotional function and overall health, and significantly alleviated fatigue, shortness of breath, loss of appetite, diarrhea, constipation symptoms; Cases of moderate and severe fatigue decreased while cases of mild fatigue and no fatigue increased (p<0.05).ConclusionThere is a positive correlation between fatigue degree and gender or age; Cancer-related fatigue affects the function of character, community and emotion the most for digestive tract malignant tumor patients, and causes fatigue in the fields of feeling, behavior and emotion; Cases of spleen deficiency, kidney deficiency and blood deficiency are the most; Yiqijianpibushen formula can significantly improve the patients’ quality of life, and alleviate fatigue.
