Chinese painting is the essence of Chinese traditional culture. With the nourishof traditional culture,Chinese painting gradually formed it’s own unique artistic styleand the technique of expression. The theory “using white as blank” was proposed byDeng Shiru,a famous calligrapher in Qing Dynasty.In many techniques of expressionof traditional Chinese painting, using white as blank is a very important form to embody the national unique style,and also an important cornerstone of aesthetic,and theauthor’s artistic attainments and Creative skills will be reflected. All this stems fromChinese paintings focus on time.This thesis divided graph comprehension with "blank" into four groups.In thefirst part we exploration through the space and its significance for the necessity ofblank.The second chapter analyzes the relationship between Chinese philosophy andempty.The third chapter carries on the reorganization to the performance of themethod,discuss and research focus,in order to express clearly able to deliberatelyselection some paintings of different forms of for comparative analysis.In the lastchapter of Revelation Space for the impact of modern painting,aiming to providesome new ideas for the innovation of Chinese painting.
