Lao Tzu was a great thinker in ancient china，"Tao Te Ching" that we arewell-known was created by Lao Tzu in the late spring and Autumn.He was thefounder of Taoists, and also was an important enlightenment to the pre-Qinphilosophers, his book and thoughts have far-reaching impact for future generations.Since the theory of Lao Tzu advent，The culture of studying Lao Tzu for more thantwo thousand years, enduring, has become a Lao-tzu faith. According to incompletestatistics，from the Qin dynasty to now，the books of studying Lao Tzu over threethousand species，was still seen by no less than1000species.In the late Warring States period，the people of that time will take nature inactiontao of Lao Tzu and statecraft of Yellow Emperor to combine to form Huang-Laotheory. In the early Han Dynasty，rulers used Huang-Lao theory to rule the world,adopt the policy of quietism and giving people peace.In the late Han Dynasty，LaoTzu deified as Taishang laojun and respect for the leader by the Taoists. Since then，chinese native religion—Taoism，on the stage of history. As the founder of Taoism，Taishang Laojun was worshipped and belived by the ruling class and belivers. In Tangand Song dynasties，the Tang rulers revered Lao Tzu as Lee Royal ancestors，called"Taishang Xuanyuan Emperor",and named the February15th in Chinese lunarcalendar that Lao Tzu’s birthday was"Xuanyuan Festiva".Through The novels ofMing Dynasty that "Journey to the West","Creations of the Gods"，Taishang Laojunwas known and belived by the public，he became an impotant god in the folk faith. Inrecent years，with the Chinese national strength stronger and the improvement ofpeople’s living standard, a lot of cultural tourism projects about Lao Tzu emerged oneafter another,kinds of "Lao Tzu Cultural Festival" convened like a raging fire.Therewas very important role for promoting the Lao Tzu’s culture and promulgating theTaishang Laojun faith.Academic field has achieved rich theoretical results about Lao Tzu、"Tao TeChing"and his thoughts. There are numerous books from these areas to research LaoTzu. At present，in the academic circles，the study and research about Lao Tzu andTaishang Laojun less，so this article intends to study from this aspect. First，from thehistorical evolution about the faith of Lao Tzu and Taishang Laojun, research the process that Lao Tzu from human to god，and the important events about the faith ofLao Tzu and Taishang Laojun in each dynasty. Secondly，combine the "81change ofLao Tzu"，from five aspects to analyse. Finally，elaborate the cultural values and socialinfluence of Lao Tzu and Taishang Laojun.This paper attempts the research about the faith of Lao Tzu and Laojun, moreclearly understand the culture and thought and their value of Lao Tzu，and theinfluence of Taishang Laojun in Taoism and sosociety.
