Chinese colleges and universities have introduced to its readers a great number oftextbooks and academic works primarily in the form of photo-offsets. In order to meetthe needs of readers, there are many Chinese versions in the domestic book market, butthe translated versions are not always of high quality. International business textbooks,for example, which are representative and unique, attract the attention of translators.Based on translating the “human resources management” part of International Business(7th Edition), and using a large number of parallel texts as example, this translationpractice report summarizes the text structure, layout, language and presents somereasonable translation methods for these. Finally, it points out that a qualifiedinternational business textbook translation should be faithful to the original, idiomatic,and understood by Chinese readers.
