The children’s poetry of Jin bo is among the most excellent original children’spoetry in China. It enjoys unanimous complement by the scholars for its glamor. Thispaper will come to a different evaluation that his poetry is not always that glamorousthrough a combination of his poems with my personal understanding.The images and artistic conceptions in Jin bo’s poetry see his efforts to absorbfrom the classical poetry. However, he has driven them to a rigid zone instead ofendowing them with new implecations. We can simply summarise the images andartistic conceptions in Jinbo’s poetry as “green plants, red flowers, blue sky and thegolden Sun” which seems to be repetitive without creation, artificial without littleemotion and vulgar without imagination.Apart from his absorption from classical poetry, Jin bo also learns from theresources in the traditional nursery rhyme. His achievement in nursery rhyme ismuch better than that in Child poetry. Thus the poetry of his works is largely dilutedas he alters from the two ends. Although his children’s sonnet is seen as a greatinnovation, we can still demonstrate through an analysis that it turn out to be just ainnovation in modality raner than in essence.Jin bo starts his life literature from lyric composing, which obviously influenceshis creation in children’s poetry. We can feel strong musicianship from his works, thismusicianship are from the external structure of the musical style as well as from itsinternal structure of phonology, rythm and melody. From the perspective ofchildren’s poetry, the musicianship in his works should be favored. But it cannot beignored that it is the musicianship that makes the children’s poetry “second-gradepoetry” whose features are consumed as the words of the poems are like lyrics.Jin bo’s children’s poetry is brought into varous textbooks, but this cannot betaken as symbol of his great achievement in child’s poetry or of the glamor of Chinese.The composers of the textbooks select his works mainly for other consideration likethe mainstream aesthetic conception in his child’s poetry. As for the criticism againsthis poetry, the problems of why children need poems, what kind of poems children need, the standard of excellent children’s poetry are covered. Since the children aresupposed to understand the diverse possibilities of the poems, several possibilitieswill be raised later in this paper to demonstrate the possibilites of poetry.Jin bo and his works might be a mark of a times, as it goes by, his gain and losswill be soon learned from by later comers. The criticism in this paper faces towards apossible direction in the future. Only by consistent accumulation and innovation canChinese children’s poetry glitter in the world’s excellent tradition of the children’spoetry.
