In the recent twenty years,"Multiculturalism" has become the new cultural policy ofAmerica. It means the foreign cultures should still retain their own culture features inthe whole American culture content, and represents their respects and concerns for theethnic minorities, especially the vulnerable groups like the colored race、femalegender and the homosexual. Nowadays, the multiculturalism policy has exerted aninfluence on the various universities and colleges in the United States, aiming atoffered the equal opportunity to the teenagers with a vairety of cultural backgroundsand gave the poor students and the newly immigrant students a sense of safety andidentity. Though my fully participant and observation in fieldwork about UCLA silkand bamboo music. My dissertation inclines to emphasis on discussing a series ofquestions:“How Chinese traditional culture stands out among the multi-culture?""How can we balance the Chinese traditional authenticity and the Western classicalmusical system?""How can we construct Eastern homeland in the westernforei’gners mind through music?" Then some effective ideas and school runningmethods have been absorbed to revive the traditional music education in thespecialized institutions of our nation. The whole writing is partially around thetheoretical frame of Bourdieu’s "structure-habitus and tactics-practice (with itsmeanings)".
