Social practices as an important part of the social character, already exist in themyths and legends of ancient times, there are many practices of which are spread sofar. But in changing times and cultural integration in the process, changes intraditional practices will also develop. Especially in the Tang and five dynasties, withthe integration of multi-ethnic, multicultural exchanges, the Central Plains traditionalso practices with other peoples, other cultures influence each other, and make adifference. Praying for rain practices as traditional of Chinese culture in the of asacrifice ceremony, in Shang dynasty, and Zhou dynasty, and Han dynasty, and Wei Jinsouthern and northern dynasties, different of dynasty are has development shift, asbefore Spring and autumn and the warring States periods is "use people to pray forrain", Han dynasty appeared to Dong Zhong-Shus Yu Festival method for origin ofpraying for rain cult, and to Wei Jin dynasties has into "make a clay image, used topray for rain", and after Buddhist incoming China, praying for rain ceremony andbecause has has with other religious culture of blend, so produces has also ofchanges. Rained practices changes profoundly reflected in the literature of the time,this article from the specific perspective of the literary text, exploring the practicereflected in the social life.The first part of this paper explored rain practice of reflecting in the novels ofTang dynasty and five dynasties. Multicultural blend during the Tang and the fivedynasties, formed the coexistence of Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism are threesituations, and because the ruling classes on Buddhism and Taoism, with varyingdegrees of attention and use, thus the two religions has had a significant influence inthe social life. Specifically shown in the novels and rain related to Buddhism andTaoism, and by contrast fiction with similar sections of religious Scriptures, andappears in the novel rain ceremony-related images of Buddhist monks and Taoistpriests, explore the interaction and fusion between religion and customs.The second part from the stylistic departure, studying the effects of Tang andfive dynasties’ Qi Yuwen and He Yuwen. Basedon the relationship between cultural development and political influence, set offfrom ruling class attitude to drought, affecting mens poetry with political enthusiasmtheme, focused not only on peoples livelihood, also put the authors sympathy, monkand religious feelings and poetry. In addition, the spirit of encouraging the people toreally achieve the purpose of compassionate disaster, there have been someexpectations for the connotation of expressing joy rain poems enriched theconnotation of rain poems.
