A Probe Into Human Dignity From The Perspective Of Marxist Humanity

Human dignity is sacred quest, and the protection of human dignity is the basiccondition to ensure the realization of human freedom and comprehensivedevelopment. In the vision of Marxist Hominology, the discussion of human dignity isbased on the basis of the real social relations of production. And it is from theperspective of real people that the discussion regards the realization of human dignityas its ultimate value targets. Currently, the complex social relationships coming alongwith the economic development, lead to the dignity missing phenomenon in somedegree. Inquiring human dignity from the perspective of Marxist Hominology is ofvital importance to the maintenance of human dignity, because in this case we are ableto analyze in depth the reasons for the lack of dignity and make constructive measuresto protect the human dignity. The exploration of human dignity will mainly unfoldfrom the following aspects:First, elaborating the connotation of human dignity and its properties. We discussthe meaning of dignity mainly from the Marxist anthropology perspective, pointingout that along the personal social practice human dignity is realistic and concrete,practical and historical, and also proposing triple properties of dignity-naturalproperties, social properties and mental properties.Second, exploring the significance of human dignity on realization of humanvalues.In this part we will get a clear meaning about personal and social values andthe relations between them and we will also discuss role in promoting theachievement of personal and social values of human dignity.Third, summarizing the factors which affect human dignity. Our discussion mainlyunfolds from two aspects: for an individual, to establish a correct concept of moralityand dignity is the basis and qualification to guarantee the human dignity; for a society,whether we can meet certain economic conditions, whether we establish a fair and justsocial system and whether we have a harmonious social environment will be directlyrelated to the realization of human dignity.Fourth, describing the situation of the absence of dignity at this stage. We summarize the main manifestations as follows: the polarization caused by economicproblems;“alienation" troubles brought by the market economy; desalination inpeople’s sense of dignity resulted from moral decline; vulnerable groups struggling atthe edge of dignity.Fifth, proposing a way to maintain the human dignity. In view of the currentsituation of the lack of human dignity in our country, we must firmly establish thepeople-centered socialist harmonious concept; strengthen the maintenance of dignityin legal aspects; establish a sound fair and justice socialist system; strengthen people’smoral concepts and cultivate their moral characters; implement livelihood securitypolicies to ensure the survival of people with dignity.
