Psychological defense mechanism is one of the hot issues of at home and abroad inrecent years，as a measure of mental health indicators, it has been given widely attention inthe field of Health Psychology. Junior staff is an important driving force of social andeconomic development. Further study of junior staff of psychological defense mechanism hasimportant theoretical significance and practical significance.By the method of stratified random cluster sampling，with a large chemical enterprises inShandong province327junior staffs as the research object. Measuring the participants’self-esteem, social support and defense mechanism. This article got the following result:1.Self-esteem of junior staffs is at a high level.Self-esteem on sex，marriage and age haveno obvious differences, but on the education exists significant differences.2.Social support of junior staffs is at a high level, Support on sex, marriage, age andeducation exists significant differences.3.The data analysis results show that the junior staffs to give priority to with maturedefense mechanism, Following by intermediate defense mechanism, immature defensemechanism,disguise factor.4.Level employees’ junior staffs is positively relative to their social support. Self-esteemand social support for the regression analysis suggest that subjective support can predictself-esteem, high subjective support indicates a high level of self-esteem, whereas low levelsof subjective support are correspondingly lower self-esteem.5.Self-esteem and mature defense mechanisms are positively correlated, And haveintermediate negative with immature defense mechanisms. High levels of self-esteem tendto use mature defense mechanisms. Self-esteem and mature defense mechanisms for theregression analysis suggest that self-esteem can predict intermediate defense mechanisms.6.Social support and mature defense mechanisms are positively correlated, And haveintermediate negative with immature defense mechanisms. The individual who have highlevel of support tend to use mature defense mechanisms.Social support and mature defensemechanisms for the regression analysis suggest that subjective support and objective supportcan predict mature defense mechanisms.7.Social support could directly affect defense mechanisms,also indirect effects todefense mechanisms through intermediary of social support.
