Dunhuang, since ZhangQian envoying Western had become the city of the Northwest Territories, the Silk Road fortress, but also a Buddhist city. Tibet, Guiyijun had ruled it, until the Western Xia destroyed it.Guiyijun Period (848-1036) is roughly equivalent to the late Tang and Five Dynasties, Dunhuang monasteries during this period, not just religious institutions, but also local political, economic, cultural and social activities, such as comprehensive public social center.
