A Study On The Relationship Between Temperament And Aggression In 4 - Year - Old Children

The behavior that causes injury to the others in one’s childhood and adolescence is called attack behavior, which is standardized by the harmful results caused by the individuals to the others. System theory points out that the internal and the external systems are the two main factors that affect human attack. The internal system includes cognitive, personality, emotional and physiological processes, as well as other subsystems, while the external system refers to the social and cultural factors. The study of the relationship between the temperament and the attack can help people better understand the nature of the attack. And the study of the temperament can help people prevent and control such aggressive behaviour. Early childhood is an important stage in the development of the individual, because the children are not mature in all aspects of physical, psychological and social roles. Therefore, they are prone to have aggressive behaviors in peer interaction, which can be harmful to the children’s physical and mental development. Children’s aggressive behaviors are bound up with their internal instability. In recent years, the aggressive behaviors among the children cause so much trouble to the managers in kindergarten and their parents, which arouses practical significance on how to control such aggressive behavior and promote the children’s physical and mental development.Teacher interviews, situational test and questionnaire method are used in this study.112four-year-old children are randomly selected from the Kindergarten of Dalian, among which60are screened out by the way of teacher interviews. Then make the situation test on them to find out their temperament types. Conduct a survey on their parents to look for their aggressive behaviors in recent half years. And make the correlation analysis, the regression analysis as well as the variance analysis on the relationship between the four-year-old children’s temperament and their aggressive behaviors.The results show that:four-year-old children’s temperament and their aggressiveness have significant negative correlation. And the regression analysis of four-year-old children’s temperament and their aggressiveness shows that the temperament can predict the aggressiveness in certain degree. Four-year-old children’s aggressive behaviors have little relation to their genders.
