The Realization Of Desire

Dreams are successions of images, ideas, emotions, and sensations that occur subconsciously in the mind during certain stages of sleep. Sigmund Freud had created a whole system to analyze dreams on psychological perspective.In my research I found that there are so many similarities between dream analysis and the creation of picture books.Through dream analysis I will carry out a series of work on researches about picture book art. This article is based on Floyd’s research on dreams, to explain what is " the wish‐fulfillment of dreaming" and how it is going to affect how a picture book is made, from the very beginning to the final stage. With the analysis on real examples of children’s book, I will expand the way that dream analysis is applied to picture books. Hope this essay will give its own readers a sense of recognition and provide new ways of thinking about how to create a children’s book.
