Mono-no-aware aesthetics is an aesthetic ideology that is bred in Japan. It isrooted in every aspect of the Japanese’s behavior pattern and ways of thinking,and represents the inner aesthetic habit and value system for the Japanese tounderstand, advocate and pursue beauty. Focused on the overall visual effect,this paper studies the aesthetics of mono-no-aware in Japanese animes. By a deepanalysis of Japanese animation influenced by the pursuit of mono-no aesthetics,in its features of image presenting, audio-visual language and narration methodsetc., combining with the interpretation of the anime classics, the aim is toreveal the unique aesthetic significance in the Japanese animes, and at last, withthe conjunction of the development progress of Japanese animation, to analysethe progress from sprouting, formulating to maturing of the mono-no awarefocused aesthetic tone in Japanese animation history, as well as to give ananalysis to its spread value on a commercial level so as to provide a theoreticalbasis to the study of mono-no-aware aesthetics in the Japanese animationindustry.
