Digital has the function of play a decisive role in human’s daily life. Digital can help people not only to convey accurate time information, can also provide accurate order and size information for people. Therefore, digital charm attracted the curiosity of researchers in different fields, the study of human digital capability also has been a hot issue in the research of psychology. In1993, Dehaene used parity judgment experimental paradigm, subjects were asked to judge the parity properties of digital by pressing corresponding button, results show that wheather odd or even, the left hand reaction to smaller numbers than the right, and the right hand reaction of larger numbers than left hand fast, He named the relationship between reaction rate of this digital size and both hands the effect of spatial numerical association of response codes. In the studies of digital representation, the researchers also found another important effect, named the effect linguistic markedness of characteristics of response codes, referred to as the MARC effect. Generally speaking, researchers always study the space properties of numbers through these two effects.Since the SNARC effect was found by Dehaene, the spatial representation of numbers had achieved fruitful results, but also for the field has brought many new problems, such as, whether the processing of subjects to English digital was the same as that of Arabia and Chinese number? Whether processing mechanism of the SNARC effect in different processing conditions is the same? Whether the characteristics and mechanism of MARC effect of visual processing channel and auditory processing conditions are the same? Based on these questions, this study will explore the space representation of digital in different processing conditions (visual processing channel and auditory processing channel).We designed three experiments to investigate these problems. In Experiment1, we use the visual channel processing, and the experimental paradigm of parity judgment, and three different forms of experimental stimuli (Arabic numbers, Chinese digital and English digital) to explore the spatial representation of the three different forms of symbolic figures. In Experiment2, we used the auditory channel processing, the experimental paradigm of parity judgment, and Chinese digital and English digital as stimuli, to explore the spatial representation of participants of the two numbers. In Experiment3, we use the auditory channel processing, the standard number experimental paradigm,and Chinese digital and English digital as experimental stimuli, to study the spatial representation of participants of the two numbers.Through the experiment, analysis and discussion, we got the following conclusions:(1) The processing of Chinese individual of English digital is different from that of Chinese digital and digital Arabia, the process of English digital is more complicated, at the same time, individual’s processing strategy for Chinese digital will have a certain impact on the English digital processing.(2) The SNARC effect is processing channel specific, in the auditory channel, if the digital quantity information was activated, it will generate a SNARC effect, if there was no further activation of the number information, it will not generate the SNARC effect.(3) The MARC effect is processing channel specific, auditory input is similar to the speech input, which can activate the linguistics of digital more significant. The significant activation of linguistics is the premise of MARC effect. If the classification of digital nature is existing in the experiment, the MARC effect will be enhanced.
