Face The Threat From The "third Party"

In the long evolution of human, frequently in people’s life are threatened by love betrayal. In order to ensure that their offspring can better reproduce, people in the face of infidelity of love evoke a strong romantic jealousy. This kind of jealousy reminds people to identify threats, protecting people’s love relationship. Due to the social responsibility of the men and women are different and different physiological mechanism, men and women are different under the condition of choosing the best partner, at the same time to induce in men and women romantic jealousy have different characteristics. Previous research has found that induce romantic jealousy, men and women show differences in behavior and emotions. But romantic jealousy of past research is not comprehensive, in the study also has some problem, main show is in:1) Romantic jealousy induced by way of imagination and memory method, as a result of the existence of individual differences and individual experience is different, lead to induce the romantic jealousy is not unified, unstable;2) Romantic jealousy measurement method are most with a questionnaire. However romantic jealousy questionnaire report is influenced by social desirability is large, lead to the measured results often vary, also due to differences in cultural background, and foreign questionnaire is not suitable for measuring the Chinese subjects of romantic jealousy;3) Research content on romantic jealousy, previous studies involving more romantic jealousy and personality characteristics related, romantic jealousy induce situation, competitors and other research, but research of the essence of romantic jealousy, and romantic jealousy of cognitive neuroscience research is very few. This paper adopt the way of laboratory induced romantic jealousy, to study attention to the face, emotional experience, and the neural mechanism.In experiment1,We induced romantic jealousy by method of laboratory, and we use of attention shift paradigm, measurement test of the appearance of beautiful, looks ordinary male faces or female faces reaction time of attention shift, and the slower reaction time means the stronger attention of face. the results showed that, when females be tested in a romantic jealousy situation, their reaction time of attention disengaging appears more slowly, no matter the one be noticed is beautiful or general of woman. The male’s reaction time of attention disengaging appears more slowly while the one be noticed with general appearance of man only. One experiment found that after inducing romantic jealousy men and women, there are differences in the appearance of the face of the note.In experiment2,We use the same method to measure when participants evoked romantic jealousy attention shift reaction of the expression of four faces, the results showed that, females’ reaction time of attention disengaging appears more slowly when they are tested by expression of sadness and fear. Males’ reaction time of attention disengaging appears more slowly when they are tested by expression of angry. The study found that, when a male and a female are tested feel that their relationship between them is menaced by a third one, he or she shows different characteristics of attention and emotion from the other.In experiment3,we trying to explore males and females participants in romantic jealousy processing have different neural processing model. Results show that under the condition of inhibiting the right PCG, their reaction time of attention disengaging appears more slowly, no matter the one be noticed is beautiful or general of man or woman, however female subjects reaction were no significant change. Under the condition of inhibiting the left Visual cortex, the male’s reaction time of attention disengaging appears more fast while the one be noticed with general appearance of man only. However females’ reaction time of attention disengaging appears more fast, no matter the one be noticed is beautiful or general of woman. But the study of cognitive neurological romantic jealousy, there are still not enough, need to be improved in future studies.
