The Tongcheng song originated from Tongcheng of Anhui province，which belongs to the category of the Chinese national folk music that producedin the villages and daily lives. With the development ofhistory and changing of dynasties, the Tongcheng song has been exercised,modified, enriched and plaited for many times to be perfect. As early as theHan Dynasty, the Ming and Qing dynasties had spread throughout the areasouth of the Yangtze River, and has exerted a very impotrant inlfuence In theHuangmei Opera, Tongcheng school. There were also many lyrics from theTongcheng song.In2008， the Tongcheng song was ranked in the national intangiblecultural heritage.Although now it is very difficult to find out when and where theTongcheng song was created, its cycle coordinates and its different presentforms in the different time of history can be discovered. This paper does aconsolidation and summary of historical development of the Tongcheng songfrom the aspects of Tongcheng era characteristics, geographical environment,customs, culture and cultural characteristics, etc. and at the same time it alsowill discuss the categories and characteristics of the Tongcheng song, and itsimpact on other forms of literature and art in the process of its development.The main content of this topic research includes four parts:The first part: the historical overview of the Tongcheng songMain contents: First of all do a simple introduction of TongCheng city andthe origins of the name "Tongcheng".
