Life Consciousness In The Horizon Of Ecological Criticism

Ecological criticism, as an important literature phenomenon from the realmof literature, arises after1970s in the west. It awakes by the ecological consciousnessand environmental protection consciousness appeared during humanities research.And such consciousness express a kind of reflection pointed to Modernism and postmodernism. Among the frontier study, Ecological criticism starts to pay attention tohuman ordinary experiences and actions. As a result, it try to contradict thecomment that Ecological criticism is over influenced by science researches aboutecology, and even belongs to these researches.This thesis roots in “Consciousness of Life”, the theory underlying ofEcological criticism, has also not well defined yet. Such sensuality-feature puts itselfin Ecological criticism theory, ecological existentialism and so on. Activation of thisconsciousness opens in analysis of historical contexts and literary texts. Using Closetextual analysis and Historical context reduction, this thesis tries to study the“Consciousness of Life”, sensuality-feature in the theory underlying,tries to unfoldthe actual processes--disappearing, reappearing and alienation in human history.Within the background of ecological existentialism, aimed at how should history tapthe meaning of ecological existence,in a view of ourselves, the feeling subject ofproduction and reproduction. By supplementing and expanding existing ecologicalcriticism, this thesis tries to put up a way to avoid a kind of over-effection by scienceresearches about ecology, in order to clear up the theoretical boundary betweenscience research and humanities research. It will links theoretical exploration andspecific situation in men’s lives, and express our better vision to live and enjoy ourlife. The goal of this thesis is to clarify one little topic of ecological criticism, torepresent a sort of situation of ecological criticism completely. Hopefully, it’s theworth of this thesis.
