In the late Qing dynasty and the early republic of China,study of models of handwritingdeclined sharply, while Epigraphic Calligraphy became the mainstream of calligraphy in lateQing Dynasty. Theory books like "Beibei" post on the South,Yi Zhou Shuang Ji","Guang YiZhou Shuang Ji advent one after another, provided a solid theoretical foundation for Imitatingthe tombstone and advanced the Beiban calligraphy to an unprecedented level. After the matureof monument, if we blindly advocate statue monument and suppress posts,it will bound to hinderthe development of the monument..Faced with the appeared phenomenon in calligraphy in Qingdynasty, Shen Zengzhi, as a confucian celebrity, put forward the point of combining thecalligraphy and post from the perspective of itsdevelopment. He also tried his best to look forthis kind of masterpieces, to prove that the previous views advocating posts or the monument isbiased. With deep cultural accomplishment and the study attitude of absorbing both views, hemade steady innovation on the basis of traditional views. The charming characteristics of hismasterpieces created a new era and he himself became a pioneer of contemporary calligraphers.After a good mastery of related materials, i studies and divides this thesis into four sections. thefirst part, a good command of the historical background, life, family learning, studying of himlet us know him and his art ship.The second part inquires the forming of his works from fouraspects in detail: the integration of Calligraphy and momentum, Homologous potential ancientand complex shape,Technique of writing and the Ink method;The third part summarized hislearning practice, and analyze the pen, knot word cursive calligraphy, tricks of his cursivecalligraphy based on his own learning practice, in order to satisfy man’s curiosity about hispeculiarity, to improve our own calligraphy realm and to find out the support of theory andpractical experience for current restless in Calligraphy world. The fourth part puts forth hiscalligraphy style and spirit and then discusses his impact on the modern Calligraphy practiceworld. The thesis inquires the Calligraphy practice and thought, cursive characteristics andimpact of Shen Zengzhi with many useful methods, such as, the literature reference method,theory Method, Comparative analysis method, analysis method, theory and practice method. Andit will provide useful reference and inspiration for the contemporary Chinese calligrapher.
