Mo Yan is a famous contemporary writer who is loved by readers widely. First he was regarded as a representative of "Root-searching Literature", since his early works were filled with "Nostalgia". Then by using the writing skills of "Magic Realism" for reference boldly, and by integrating with Chinese traditional elements, he made his works present glamour of unique art attractions. In2012, he was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature for his work as a writer "who with hallucinatory realism merges folk tales, history and the contemporary" by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. He becomes the first Chinese writer who earns this award.The theory of Intertextuality was first raised by the French literary theorist Kristeva. It emerged in the trend of structuralism and post-structuralism and was wildly used at the very beginning to become an important way to criticize and explain novels by people.This article will summarize the intertextuality writing skills of Mo Yan’s novels and compare his works with others’and his own carefully, in order to reveal the close relationship between Mo Yan and writing predecessors, to explore the cultural code that hides behind his works, and to provide more angles of view and ways of explaining his works. There are totally three parts of this article. The first part will mainly focus on Mo Yan’s intertextuality awareness during his novel writing, and the reflection of the continuation of literature theme and the writing style of reference. The second part will analyze the intertextuality writing skills in Mo Yan’s novels in detail. The last part will tell the value and significance of Mo Yan’s intertextuality writing skills of novels in application.
