Selecting college students as subjects, this study used questionnaire survey to revise the Sensitivity to Criticism Scale and analyzed the relationship among narcissistic personality, sensitivity to criticism and self-esteem. The main conclusions are as follows:1. The Sensitivity to Criticism Scale tested in college students’ sample has good reliability and validity.2. The factors of individual background have no effect on college students’ sensitivity to criticism, for example, gender, birthplace, whether or not be only child.3. There is significantly relation between sensitivity to criticism and overt narcissism, while sensitivity to criticism has positive correlation with covert narcissism significantly and negative correlation with self-esteem significantly. On analysis of variance, those students with different level of self-esteem have significant differences. Those students with higher level of self-esteem have lower level of sensitivity to criticism. There is a significant difference of sensitivity to criticism among different level of narcissistic personality. Those students with higher level of overt narcissism have lower level of sensitivity to criticism, but the covert narcissism is exactly the opposite. Narcissistic personality, self-esteem can significantly predict the change of the sensitivity to criticism on regression analysis.4. The intermediary role of self-esteem.The results of mediation effect show that the self-esteem plays a part intermediary role between sensitivity to criticism and the two dimension of narcissistic personality. The proportion between the mediation effect and total effect are46.9%and20.0%respectively. These results show that the two dimensions of narcissistic personality can affect the change of sensitivity to criticism by self-esteem indirectly.
