"Shi Xiao" Research

In ancient China,the "shi" were intellectuals.Their mission was to "set the heart for the world,fight for the lives of the people,continue to learn for the bypast oracle,and open peace for all." The so-called "filial piety of shi" is the filial piety of ancient intellectuals.Compared with the filial piety of emperor,the filial piety of the seigneur and the filial piety of the common people,the "filial piety of shi" requires the "supporting and comblying the parents" at the family level,"making use of filial piety to teach the common peopel" at the social level,and the "transforming filial piety to the fidelity " at the national level.From the historical point of view,the "filial piety of shi " presented different contents and requirements in every period.The period of the spring and autumn and Warring States period was the initial stage of the formation of the "filial piety of shi".The period of the Qin and Han Dynasties was an important stage of the preliminary forming of the "filial piety of shi".The period of the Wei,Jin and the northern and Southern Dynasties was the beginning of the transformation of the "filial piety of shi" from the ceremony to the law,and the Sui and Tang Dynasties were the strengthening of the "filial piety of shi " from the rites to law,song and Yuan Dynasties were the peak stage of "filial piety of shi" development.In the Ming and Qing Dynasties,"filial piety of shi" presents two sides.In contemporary China,because of the transformation period of society,some intellectuals and civil servants have problems of filial piety,such as corruption and no filial piety.In view of this,we must adhere to the principle of "creative transformation and innovative development",use the active ingredients of "filial piety of shi" as a reference to amend the filial piety of intellectuals and civil servants,and explore the modern value of "filial piety of shi" to guide the construction of family style and the construction of a clean and honest government.
