Class is a complex system that composed of teacher, students and the surroundings, in which the teacher and students finishing the teaching activities by means of interaction in order to achieve teaching purposes. Comparing to classroom teaching in mainland China, the situation is more complicate in the class of Teaching Chinese as a Second Language (TCSL). In actual TCSL class, a series of unexpected events may change the course of teaching. Aimed at improving Chinese teachers’ ability to accommodate alteration which will be needed in TCSL class, this thesis tries to find some regular and controllable factors to better solve these unexpected events and transform them into teaching resources.This thesis has three parts. They are foreword, main body and peroration. The foreword expounds the causes and meanings of selecting this question for discussion. It also summarizes the research achievements about the unexpected events, and then confirms the frame of this thesis.The second part of the thesis is the main body. It is divided into four chapters. The first chapter introduces the unexpected events briefly, including its definition and analysis of its causes. Based on the research results of predecessors, this thesis tries to make classification on analysis of various unpredictable causes occurring in classroom teaching. And then we classified44collected teaching cases into these classifications. The second chapter chooses6representative teaching cases, and divided them into two groups to contrast the different effects and the methods that used to deal with these problems, so as to study the Chinese teachers’ abilities to analyze the unexpected events. The third chapter surveys the situation of the green hand of Chinese teacher handling the unexpected events by questionnaire, and helps them to find shortages for progress. On the basis of the foregoing research, the last chapter attempts to find the better treating methods so that tabling the teaching proposals and new demands for promoting the teaching level of the Chinese teacher.Peroration is the third part of the thesis. It sums up the whole text and finds out its shortcomings.
