Zheng, is a kind of ancient and long-historic stringed instrument which is occupy animportant position. It is widely loved and inherited in its two thousand years of development.And during the process of developing Zheng’s culture, Zheng has mixture with local custom,local music and local language, they have infiltrated with each other, moreover, it became theSchools that were full of region characteristic. In the Schools of Zheng, there are two Schoolswhich has distinctive style and features that occupy important position in GuangDongProvince, they are Chaozhou Zheng Schools and Kejia Zheng Schools. Although they are inthe same province, the style characteristics are totally different because of the differentinfluences by different culture, language, custom and so on. This article is going to study themusic style and aesthetic characteristics of Chaozhou Zheng Schools and Kejia ZhengSchoosl through a famous Zheng compostion “The jackdaws playing with water” which isowned by both Schools. There are the followings:First of all, in the introduction part, it will introduce the objectives and contributions of thisarticle. In addition, it introduce the present situation and state the writing conception andresearch method.Secondly, it will discuss the formation elements of Chaozhou Zheng School style andKejia Zheng School style. Through the influences of human geography condition, localmusic, local language, Zheng’s shape and the Confucian music aesthetics, it will discuss thedifferences and reasons of the two Schools in detail.Thirdly, the music characteristics and aesthetic features of Chaozhou Zheng School andKejia Zheng School are the central part of the article. Through analyzing the famouscomposition “The jackdaws playing with water”, it will research and explain the musiccharacteristics and aesthetic features of two School and their values. It involves aestheticcharm, performing characteristic and aesthetic activity, detail analysis of “The jackdawsplaying with water”, and the aesthetic value of two Schools.At last, it will discuss the review thinking of development and influences about twoSchools. This part will talk about the review thinking and introspection about two School’sdevelopments in recent years, furthermore, the author will have some suggestions of Zheng’sculture and whole Schools include two Zheng Schools.
