The Chinese music is full of wealth,which has many kinds of instruments and expression forms.Chinese zither wins people's passion for its ancient charm and elegant tunes,making its important role among all traditional instruments.During its development,the traditional Chinese zither music was influnced by various regional culturesa and folk customs.Different genes have distinctive styles,especially the expression of rhymes with left hand,which deserves to be deeply thought about.Among these numerous genres,Chaozhou genre could be called the living fossil.The composition-Jackdaw playing in the water is one of the representive work of Chazhou genre.This paper takes the typical composition-Jackaw playing in the water for example.The method of rhymes with left hand was analysed in detail by discussing the tunes and charactristics of the composition.The differences and meanings of different rhymes could be fully understood,making it more convenient for the understanding of the soul of traditional Chinese ziher music,the rhyme combination and monophonic flow.As it focuses more on the distinctive tunes and methods of expression of ethnic features,the methods of rhymes with left hand owns an outstanding position in the composition of traditional Chinese zither.This paper holds a practical point to begin all the analysis.It illustrates the fancy rhyme handling and unique plate-structure performance feature.This can provide reference for new learners to learn and practice.Meanwhile,it can also help deepen their understanding of the intension of traditional Chinese zither music.
