David Hockey 's Life And Painting Research

David Hockney is undoubtedly one of the most influential painters in the international painting world in the twentieth century, for his creative artistic style has been drawing worldwide attention. This article takes David Hockney as the research subject to interpret two aspects, namely, his time and his aesthetic taste and daily life. The reason why these two aspects are the key interpretations is that the final presentation of an artist’s creating style will inevitably and intrinsically link these two factors. Therefore, for structure arrangement, this article is divided into three sections: the first is David Hockney ’s life story and experiences; the second discusses his art style to elaborate his painting style; the third and also the last part primarily makes a comparison between Hockney and his contemporaries, such as Bacon, Freud and others and analyze their similarity and difference. In fact, since our current domestic readers haven’t profoundly appreciated Hockney’s art, I intend to not only enhance my own understanding of his art through this research, but also inspire more readers and viewers to truly be familiar with Hockney and his art works.
