On The Sublime Beauty Of "Historical Records"

We can not ignore an important aesthetic category which is called "sublime".In the history of western philosophy or history of the western Aesthetics. Longinus brought the "sublime" into the aesthetic category for the first time.After that,Burke,Kant and Schiller and some Soviet union scholars also make a deep interpretation of "the sublime".I make a brief introduction about history of the word "sublime"in this paper,but that is not our purpose.Through the elaboration, We should have a deeply understanding of" sublime" and applicate this word into the Chinese texts.When shiji was finished by simaqian,this book infects lots of scholars by virtue of its great historical value and literary charm.Restricted by historical conditions,The ancients for the study of shiji focus on the traditional way such as collate, notes, comments on textual research.Since modern times,With the deepening of the Chinese and western cultural exchange. Scholars try to have some innovation on the view of research。Some scholars do the task such as shiji narrative,shiji writing art,shiji language art, shiji psychological description and so on.We can see the influence of western culture for the traditional Chinese academic,Some scholars interpret shiji from the perspective of aesthetic.On the one hand,they interpret the the article style,but it is also a traditional method,Hanyu,a litterateur who lived in tang dynasty, evaluated shiji deep and elegantOn the other hand,Some scholars try to explain simaqian’s aesthetic ideology.They think that simaqian’s aesthetic ideology can be summarized resentment and bitterness,which is different from the idea of harmony as beauty.Resentment is not only a kind of noble emotion,but also a writing motivation.It is also the standard of aesthetic evaluationBut,We can not see so many discuss and paper which explain shiji from this Angle——sublime. Some paper discuss this question,but so simple.So,I make this paper to explore the the sublime beauty of shijiThe whole thesis is divided into the following several parts:In the first part,we expound some views about sublime in the history of western aesthetics in order to clear the the connotation of the word "sublime ".After that we compare the word sublime with the word "xionghun",we want to explain relation and distinction between the two words,even two different culture system,In the final,we say that it is reasonable to explain shiji with the word "sublime"In the second part,We explain its sublime beauty from different parts such as simaqian’s experience,his personality,the structure and conception of shijiIn the third part,we discuss the sublime beauty of historical figures,we use Kant, Schiller, and some Soviet union scholars ideas to explain the historical figures behaviors.In the fourth part,we discuss the article style,we think that the sublime beauty of shiji must have connection with the content of the shiji,writer’s noble soul and the Spirit of the age,All of these factor will impact the article style,and show us the sublime beauty.In the fifth part, We draw our own conclusions, shiji is a book which has a sublime beauty.
