The research object of this paper is the death narrative of Shiji.In Shiji,there is a large proportion of the relevant narratives about the motif of "death".In Sima Qian's pen,many historical figures' death moments and final decisions were portrayed dramatic and shocking.This article will start from the perspective of death narrative in Shiji and combine the relevant theories of narratology to probe into the deep meaning behind the narrative and the function of aesthetic art.The text is divided into four parts: The first part mainly summarizes the theme of death narrative in Shiji.According to the way in which death occurs,it is divided into three types: natural death,suicide death,and killed death.On the basis of classification,there is a panoramic view of the death phenomenon in Shiji;the second part starts from the social and historical background of Sima Qian's life,and combines the author's personal life experience,to explore the cultural psychology behind his death narrative tracing;the third part is from the perspective of narrative to analyze the artistic representation of the death narrative in Shiji from the narrative perspective,narrative time and language mode of narration;the fourth part summarized functions of the shaping in historical figures' death narrative,the promotion of narratives and the shaping of narrative aesthetics on the basis of the analysis above.Sima Qian has a profound and dialectical sense of death.On the basis of earnestly thinking about the value of life and death,he uses his superb narrative technique to show us a picture of death narrative,which makes the death narrative in Shiji have a high aesthetic value and has a far-reaching and lasting impact on the death narrative in later generations.
