Oral skill is the most intuitive evidence that reflects students’ Chinese communication ability, and it needs a lot of sufficient and effective practice to strengthen. In the textbooks, as one of the three elements of the teaching material, exercise plays a important role to teacher’s teaching and students’ learning. Intermediate stage is a connecting link between the preceding and the following, and learning oral items in textbooks directly related to students’ oral ability.By this dissertation, three intermediate spoken Chinese textbooks are selected as study objects. Make statistics and analyse the statistics by comparisons, then integrating the teaching theory and my own experiences put forward our suggestions on the three textbooks’ exercise. Hope make a contribution to the intermediate oral textbooks’ exercise. The paper mainly includes the following three aspects:1、The quantity of exercises. Firstly, consulting the total quantity of exercises on the oral items and the average quantity show whether textbooks’ exercises give enough focus on lessons’ important oral items; Secondly, the quantity is linked to the following the style of exercises, which means includes each styles’ quantity.2、The style of exercises. We consult twice on the style of exercises. From the language communication elements the exercises can be apart to phonetics, phrases, sentences, dialog and paragraphs. From the study law of learning the exercises can be classified as themechannieal understanding and communicative applied exercises. Comparing the quantities of each exercise styles, find the advantages and disadvantages in the three textbooks.3、The content of exercises. Based on the quantity and style statistics, we take some oral items from the three textbooks as examples to analyze their exercises’ design. Then put some forwards to each style of exercise.In short this dissertation is a try on the exercise of intermediate oral items, and it is mainly based on three textbooks integrating the teaching theory and my own experiences. How to make up a perfect intermediate oral exercises, which still need more analyses in the future.
