A Study On The Narrative Choice Of The Legend Of The Beach

The legend of Daheng developed its own system, and it is a unique scenery in folk literature. It will be as folk literature text and text of urban culture in this paper. Analyzing the narrative choice and its cultural dynamics, conclusions are as follows:First, the legend of Daheng is deeply rooted in folk narrative tradition, especially the temperament of hobodom, the spirit of urban legend in the legend of Knight, and also the conception of the city residents in popular fiction. The character selection and the choice of plots are also in line with the aesthetic expectation in traditional folk literature. The legend of Daheng is not only traditional, but also contemporary. The theme of the legend of Daheng comes down to two points:the expression of ambition and desire, and the kind of thirst for moral compass and order. These are deeply rooted in the cultural temperament and the spirit of the age from Late Ch’ing to the Republic of China.Secondly, the cultural dynamics of narrative choice in the most powerful driving force can be divided into three levels:the regional dynamic factor, hierarchical dynamic factor, and the era of dynamic factor. As the "local" of the city of Shanghai, from the center place of the concession, the multicultural interaction on this land is the most fundamental motivation. Though the communicating forms of the legend of Daheng are extremely diverse, they cannot be separated from expression of the desire of the folk group, especially the desire from periphery to center. In the era of dynamic factors, the times is full of moral abnormality, so the moral desire and pursuit, the offending of the bottom line of public morality, and the exploring of the new ethics, are most representative ones. These three types of factors merge with each other, they work together to accelerate the narrative choice and the dissemination of the legend of Daheng.Generally speaking, the emergence, the narration, and the spreading of the legend of Daheng is in itself a kind of historical narration. As the historical narration, the ambition and desire is the most powerful driving force in the emergence and development of the legend of Daheng. But in the process of expression and repression to the desire, the legend of Daheng also made a relative balance. Consequently, the narration of the legend of Daheng is more expressed need than the result of choice.
