On The Understanding And Expression Of Translation From The Perspective Of "Triple Gate"

Translation has a long and rich history in China, and in modern times, with the rapid development of society, a great amount of translation works and revelent theories are springing up. This paper was based on my translation of the novel Doors so as to discuss about the understanding and expression in translation. The first paragraph illustrates the translation itself as a kind of communication and what the expressive effects are. The next part is an overview of the novel. Translation is not a simple word-for-word transformation. It involves many factors such as qualifications of translators, culture, ideaology, context etc. which have to be comprehensively considered by translators to achive the expected expressive effects. This paper lists many translation cases in my translation so as to analyze the understanding and expressive effects from a practical perspective.
