This translation report chooses Chapter One and Chapter Four from 100 Doors-An Introduction to Entrepreneurship as translation materials,mainly on entrepreneurship and teamwork.Under the guidance of the text type theory,the translation materials are divided into informative text and expressive text according to different characteristics.By selecting specific English-Chinese translation cases,this report discusses how the author achieves information transmission and communication,and how to make the target readers understand and accept the translation.In order to achieve the above-mentioned goals,appropriate translation methods or strategy are adopted.The report is divided into four chapters: the translation task,the text type theory and the analysis of difficulties in the source text,cases analysis and the conclusion.Chapter One describes the translation task which includes source text introduction and language analysis,purpose and significance of the translation task,and the translation process.The translation process involves pre-translation preparation,translation implementation and post-translation revision.This part focuses on the division of main tasks at different stages and details of translation process.Chapter Two introduces the text type theory and analyzes difficulties in the source text.The text type theory is presented from both home and abroad.The difficulties of the source text mainly focuses on the language characteristics,sentence patterns and specialized vocabulary.Chapter Three is cases analysis.Combined with specific cases,this report discusses the translation methods such as free translation,linear translation,amplification,the adjustment of word order as well as the translation strategy,the domestication.Chapter Four is the conclusion,which summarizes the experience and shortcomings of this translation practice,thus providing reference for future translation. |
