When Buddha picking up the flowers, Mahakasyapa smiled, heart-to-heartcommunication, mutual affinity. Bodhidharma faced to the wall, foced on onecondition, east soil planting; Huineng’s method,“which comes to the pointimmediately, one who sees his own nature can become Buddha”,then the《ALTARSUTRA》was found. Then, it was sinicization,which origin of ancient Indian andacted a glorious page in Chinese civilization.This thesis is divided into five parts on the relationship between Zen andhumanistic psychology and its modern significance.The first part of thesis introduces the reasons and literature review of theresearch.The second part mainly introduces the main idea of Zen, focuses on Inwardnesstheory, Enlightenment theory,self theory and Buddhata theory.The third part mainly introduces the humanistic psychology theory, focuses on thetheory of humanistic psychologist:maslow and Rogers,ect.The fourth part mainly elaborated the similar ideas of Zen and humanistic,discussed some of classic altar:ALTRA SUTRA, Zen case, interviews, Zen ideas andhumanistic theory.The last part summarizes Zen and the development of indigenous humanisticpsychology, through literature research and interviews, summarizes conclusions: Zenideas has guidance value in today’s humanistic psychology research, and it is worth amore detailed exploration and research for us.
