In recent years, teaching Chinese has been rapidly developed in the US, thestandard of learning Chinese as a second language has become much higher as well asthe requirements of Chinese textbooks. In the case of the Chinese textbooks whichhad been published in China mainland can not meet the needs of Chinese teaching inthe US, a number of Chinese teachers who teach Chinese in the US written andpublished some Chinese textbooks in accordance with the environment and demandof Chinese teaching in the US. Some of these materials which had received betterresults won the recognition of teachers and students and had been widely used in theUS.For a long time, the profession of teaching Chinese as a foreign language hasbeen exploring the adaptability of Chinese teaching materials overseas, but due to thelimited understanding of the teaching environment overseas, there is still no localizedChinese teaching materials which is targeted and applicability, therefore it issignificant to start the research of localized Chinese teaching materials.This thesis attempts to analysis the pertinence and applicability of tworepresentative advanced Chinese textbooks. We hope for develop ideas and providereference for the written of localization Chinese textbooks in the US.
