Comparing is the basic way to know and understand about the world. Expressingways differ from different languages. If the comparison results are equal, thesentences are comparison of equality; If the comparison results are different, then wecall the sentences comparison of inequality. Equality comparative sentences whichexist both in English and Chinese are an important way to express the meaning ofcomparison between two objects. The same as跟……一样in Chinese, as……as isalso the most typical pattern in English language. On the basis of contrastivelinguistics this thesis has determined the scope of equality comparative sentences ofChinese-English in syntactic, semantic criteria. In this paper, by comparing theChinese-English equality comparative sentences, we find the similarities anddifferences in semantics, pragmatics, combined with the ontology research, putsforward several measurements to teach foreign students Chinese equalitycomparative sentences.
