| The dissertation is divided into four parts to research the ideology of Jiay（i贾谊）through which to expound the system design made by the intellectuals and thevariation from the Eastern Zhou Dynasty to Qin and Han Dynasties, with the methodsof history and other related humanities and social sciences and taking Xinshu (《新书》) as main document.The first chapter summarizes the social and historical environment in which Jiayilived. At the end of the Western Zhou Dynasty, ritual system and feudal systemcollapsed. After that many thinkers devoted themselves to reconstructing the society.Jiayi was one of the figures living in the process of the reconstruction.The second chapter expounds the ideal state of society planed by Jiayi. In thissociety state, Tianxia（天下）is the supreme goal of governing and the basic unit instructuring society in kingly way（王道）.The third chapter expounds the basic design about social structure made by Jiayi.The design depended on setting the rules to the three social roles of the emperor, theminister and the citizen. Therefore this chapter discusses the design of the three socialroles and their social function in the first three sections. And the fourth sectionexpounds the relationship between them on the basis of the first three sections.The fourth chapter expounds the value support to the social system as Jiayidesigned. Jiayi inherited the values and ethics from the pre-Qin period as importantbasis to reconstruct the social value system in order to support his social systemdesign. This chapter is divided into three sections to expound four moral values ofritual, benevolence, filial piety and loyalty in Jiayi’s ideological system. |
