This thesis focuses mainly on the fashioning of female images in the Haninationality in Hani feminine literature.History has been dominated completely by the masculinity from the ancient time.For female, their healthy and free development is suppressed by the male-dominationsociety. The female are living under the bottom of society, especially the Hani femalewho are existing under the dual margins of race and gender. The dual margins theyare under determine their special gender character and social status in the process ofhistory development. At the same time, the dual margins also determine the drasticonslaught they will confront in the new period of history. Hani women writers, suchas Huang Yan and Ming Zhui and so on, who confront the great change of times andrethink with literature creation. These two writers try to research the living conditionand final destination of Hani female and show us how the borderland women goacross the history and move towards the contemporary are by using their strong andspecial Hani ways of thinking and writing styles. They also convey the messages ofthe unique living condition, sense of survival, value orientation and the spiritselection the Hani women have to make in the radical changes. The Hani female haveto confront these problems in the society they live in.This paper first summarizes the female images of the Hani nationality shaped inthe Hani women literature, hence to outline three kinds of Hani female images---thesilent bears, the active creators and the pathfinders. By analyzing and generalize thesethree kinds of women images, this paper tries to uncover the living condition andspirit pursuit of Hani female who are exiled on the edges of history and culture. Basedon these researches, this thesis studies how the writers create and mould the Hanifemale images and also compares and probes the different features in their modes ofnarration and techniques of expression. The second part of this paper mainly studiesthe Hani female images in the Hani feminine literature under the radical literarychanges in order to protrude that the contemporary women writers desire to seek rootsof their nationality with the aid of the women figures in their native race. The women writers want to reconstruct the native cultural spirit when the ethnic culture is erodingby the modern civilization and the race mind is covered by others. In addition, thispart also indicates that these women writers, from the standpoint of female, expresstheir ultimate care for the Hani female’s living condition and spirit decision. At last,by comparing to the narrative discourse of the Hani male writers, the writer of thispaper analyzes the diversities existing between the Hani female and male writers. Bydoing so, the thesis conveys that the contemporary Hani women writers’ writingshave the potential intentions to deconstruct the patriarchy myth and rush out ofdomination of the male discourse. Through comparative analysis, this thesis exploresthe values of literature, the significance of awareness and reality significance of Hanifeminine literature which writes from the female viewpoints and focuses on thefemale figures.
