The National Endowment for the Arts is an important institution of the United States government, and it plays a guidance role both in the United States’arts funding system and all over the world.As a non-profit arts organization, NEA is driven by its purpose and philosophy. However, NEA shows different patterns and trends in terms of the principle of distribution funding and financing at different stages of development.This article attempts to analyze NEA’s arts funding mode during the "post 9·11 era", and discuss its principle of distribution、projects design concept and other characteristics. The author believes that the national endowment for the arts is not "declined" or" rendered powerless" as some scholars said, but adapt to the new era with a new face after adjustment and reform.Case study is mainly used in this article. The research method is based on the statistics which can be found on NEA website and its annual reports. Through the study of the funding methods and strategies of NEA may be available for China National Arts Fund.
