History Of Chinese Culture (Chapter 3) English - Chinese Translation Practice Report

This report, which is based on the translation of chapter three in The Heritage of Chinese Civilization, aims to give a thorough analysis of the completion of the translation task. This report will firstly describe the translation task and translation process. Then supported by the actual cases and examples from the text, this report will explore the various problems and the translation methods in terms of the culturalloaded words, the combination of short sentences and the translation of long sentences during the translation practice. Lastly, this report will end with a summary and some revelations on translation skills. Through the translation practice, the author endeavors to provide some beneficial force for those translators who are engaged in translating books about Chinese history and culture.
