The social analyzing novels of Wu Zuxiang with distinct social consciousness have demonstrated the various facets in social life and the complicated sharp class contradiction. The novels, firstly, grasp accurately the social relationships, namely, reveal the total bankruptcy of rural economy and truly reflect the decline and decay of the feudal patriarchal system. Secondly, the novels contain the eager expectation of the social transformation, which is expected to be accomplished during the struggling with feudalism and imperialism basing on the reality of China. And thirdly, strong humanism emotions could be found in the novels that are manifested as the sympathy on the weak. The changing narrative perspectives, the limited first person narrative skill and the purely objective third person narrative skill are pursued by Wu Zuxiang in his social analyzing novels. It marks the awakening of the writer’s subject awareness, i.e., the transformation to intensifying the objectiveness and the indirectness of the narrative subject from the penetration of self subject will. Plus, Wu Zuxiang tends to use concise and lively words and pursues the elaborative and unconventional structures of story. There is, what’s more, obvious local features of southern Anhui province in the social analyzing novels of Wu Zuxiang, with the significance of genre painting. And the poetic characteristic could be found in the novels for the sake of constructing the feelings of prose. In the purpose of illustrating the criticizing on the social reality and the expectation of the ideal society, the novels have constructed the tragedy aesthetics.
