| Interruption is a phenomenon frequently appears in conversation between doctors and patients. In other words, in order to get the right to speak, the doctors and patients produce this phenomenon. Basing on real corpus, the paper makes a detailed analysis of the interruption produced in conversations between doctors and patients under theoretical framework of conversation analysis and nonverbal communication theory. It makes an analysis of the verbal and nonverbal expression of interruption, which occur before and after interruption, and it classifies the patterns and characteristics of signal and reaction of interruption. Furthermore, this paper proposes solutions to avoiding the negative effects caused by interference interruption.This paper not only makes an analysis of the verbal behavior but also classifies the nonverbal behavior which occur before and after the phenomenon of interruption in conversation. Hence, it provides a solid theoretical basis for further research on interruption in conversation. |
