This report, taking the Chinese-English translation of chapter 19 of Guide to Chinese Culture —the Silk Road as an example, solved such translation problems of the Chinese culture translation as the translation of proper nouns, the translation of Chinese idioms, the translation of Chinese sentences with no subjects and the avoidance of Chinglish; summarized some methods in common use in the translation of Chinese culture, including literal translation, liberal translation, amplification, omission and so on. However, to form a set of complete and standardized, scientific and effective translation strategies of the Chinese culture, we still have a long way to go. Therefore, the author also devoted herself to the Chinese-English translation of the material about the Silk Road and does her best to make a contribution to the transition of Chinese culture, especially that of the Silk Road history and culture.
