People’s emotion have big influence to the acquisition of the second language learning, and the motivation is an important part of emotion. Motivation always express by some desires that trying to achieve the intent and it’s internal reason and motion to inspire people doing something. Academics in the world have researched deeply about motivation of learning the second language, and they have prolific results until now. We have so much studies about the motivation of learning Chinese for the students from the occident and the southeast of Asia, but lack of studies about students from Laos.Contrary to the situation, the thesis have indicate the background and meaning of the study at the very beginning based on the interrelated theories of the motivation of learning the second language, also the thesis did a summary for the interrelated theories, that made a clear point to the purpose of this study. The main part of the thesis depicted the conception motivation and learning motivation, and did a research about the Chinese study of some students from Laos in Yunnan Province. Then made a comprehensive analysis to the results, and we have obtain the intensity of every type of motivation, the current situation and the uniqueness of students from Laos about the motivation of Chinese learning. The thesis had offered some strategies of learning Chinese for students of Laos. In the end of the thesis, we made a conclusion and pointed the inadequate of the research.The thesis used ways of investigation, analysis, research and summary to do whit the questionnaire, and with the SPSS(19.0),we had the date of the intensity of learning Chinese for Laos’students. According to the research, we found that the motivation of Laos’students is more clear, and have different expressions among sex, age and major background. So teachers for them should have related strategies for different students. Pay more attention to the internal motivation and the converged motivation would have a great effort to teaching.The thesis gives some advice that can strengthen the motivation of learning Chinese for Laos’students, and also have some strategies and advice for teaching Chinese. Hope can be references for TCSOL and have an effect on the learning of Chinese for Laos’students.
