Graduation Work "impression" Of The Creative Description

Printmaking is one of the most traditional branch of the Chinese printing. Trace back to Sui Dynasty, we Chinese people began to print text and images on paper by woodcut, and this is the first time mankind draw picture in this way. Printmaking has a place in the history of world culture, and it developed rapidly from Europe’s renaissance. In 1930 s, Lu Xun brought the boom of printmaking back to China and made it more popular here. With the unique artistic characteristics, printmaking turns over a new page of history, but on the other hand, it leaves partial impression to people. Within all the categories of printmaking, gouache prints attract people’s attention by its varieties of colors.In this paper, we discuss the gouache prints to explain the ideas, processes and fillings about my work “ Impression ”. In the first part of this paper, we talk about the origin of printmaking and development of gouache prints around the world. Then, we make comparison among three kinds of print in toning, pigment, paper etc. We do this to make the features of gouache prints clearer. In the last, I explain the skills in making gouache prints with my work. And the work itself will express my thinking, passion and feeling to the Lalu Wetland.
