Nanjing Ming Dynasty City Wall was built in the middle of the 14th century, it was presided over by Ming emperor Yuanzhang Zhu personally and implemented under the policy that’Building high walls, Widely hoarding food, Becoming the King slowly’.Nanjing Ming Dynasty City Wall was famous for its unique design, grand and complicated structure as well as the perfect facilities. In addition, it is the largest wall made of brick masonry in the world. After the six hundreds years later, however, due to the various natural and man-made factors, there has no city wall which is complete preservation exists today. With the raise of people’s awareness of cultural heritage protection, Nanjing municipal government has made the construction and protection of Ming Dynasty City Wall in the general layout of the whole city of Nanjing and formulated a series of protection scheme and measures. However, whether these measures of the protection of Ming Dynasty City Wall has played a positive effect, or even bring about some negative impacts on it? In this paper, the author will do some research about Ming Dynasty City Wall on the basis of the scenic area which is open to the public. What is more, the problems concerning the protection of Ming Dynasty City Wall will be found and some suggestions will be given in the end of this paper.
