The Datong City Wall And Its Protection And Utilization Since The Ming Dynasty

As a landmark of a city,the city wall reflects the evolution of history.Datong,as the fortress of Han Dynasty,the capital of Northern Wei Dynasty,the capital of Liao and Jin Dynasty,and the important town of Ming and Qing Dynasty,is a very important city in the development history of ancient China.Datong city wall,as a provincial cultural relic protection unit,has important historical and cultural value.The ancient city wall is located in today's Datong City.The wall is well preserved.It has a long history and the integrity of the remains is very precious.Protecting the city wall is conducive to fully display the cultural characteristics of the city and stimulate the public awareness of protecting cultural heritage.The existing main body of the Datong City wall was built during the Hongwu period of the Ming Dynasty,and its scale and shape expanded continuously.From the Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China period,the wall of Datong City also experienced different degrees of damage in the course of constant renovation.Since modern times,the ruins of the city wall of Datong have been preserved intact and become a witness of history.In recent years,with the completion of the restoration of the city wall,its protection and utilization has achieved some results,but there is still room for optimization.Based on the on-the-spot investigation and visit,through the analysis of the present situation of Datong city wall,this paper puts forward many problems existing in the protection and utilization of the city wall,such as the lag of laws and regulations,the shortage of cultural and archaeological personnel,the lack of innovation in the functions of the library and the low utilization rate of the outer space of the city wall.Based on this,this paper puts forward the following suggestions,such as improving the laws and regulations of city wall protection,paying attention to the improvement of internal mechanism and personnel training,innovative development with the help of cultural and tourism integration,and exploring diversified development paths.Through the study of the above problems,the author hopes to provide reference for the display and utilization of Datong City Wall in the future,and protect the precious cultural heritage of the city wall.
